Markdown Pipe Table to CSV / TSV Converter
Converts GFM pipe tables into RFC 4180 CSV or TSV, properly handling escaped pipes (\|), alignment lines, and flagging ragged rows.

How it works: Parses GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM) pipe tables and converts them into strict RFC 4180 CSV or Excel-compatible TSV spreadsheets. Intelligently preserves escaped internal pipe characters (\|) within cell values without splitting columns prematurely, strips markdown alignment separator dividers (|:---|:---:|), validates ragged rows where cell counts differ from the header, and applies RFC 4180 standard cell quoting whenever values contain commas, quotation marks, or newlines. Includes an active CSV Formula Injection Guard that safely neutralizes spreadsheet formula execution triggers.
Why it matters: Markdown tables generated by Large Language Models (LLMs), README files, and issue trackers are clean to read visually, but impossible to import directly into relational databases, Snowflake, or Microsoft Excel. Simple line splitting fails when table cells contain escaped pipes, commas, or nested quotes. Furthermore, CSV Formula Injection (OWASP DDE) poses a serious corporate security risk: malicious table cells starting with '=', '@', '+', or '-' can execute arbitrary command shell payloads when opened in desktop spreadsheet applications. PasteXray prefixes dangerous formula triggers with an apostrophe while strictly preserving authentic positive and negative numeric data (-1500, +2.5).
Security Architecture: All parsing is deterministic and executes client-side.
